Dr. Steven A. Loomis

Dr. Loomis attended Montana State University for his undergraduate training before earning his Doctorate of Optometry in 1979 from Pacific University College of Optometry. In 1981, he started the practice later known as Mountain Vista EyeCare and Dry Eye Center in Littleton, Colorado.

Active in both community and professional organizations, he is the past president of the Colorado Optometric Association, the Southwest Council of Optometry and the Chatfield Rotary Club.

Dr. Loomis was selected Optometrist of the Year by the Colorado Optometric Association in 1993. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the 36,000 member association. In his capacity on the Board of Trustees, he liaisons to both Federal and State Government Relations Centers.

In 2007, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Colorado Optometric Association. He is also an instructor for the American Optometric Association's Optometric Leadership Institute. Dr. Loomis is married to Kathy and they have three grown children.

Dr. Kent Yount

Dr. Yount earned his Bachelor of Science at Pacific University before graduating cum-laude from the Pacific College of Optometry in 1988. He completed a residency program in ocular disease and pathology at Omni Eye Specialists.

Dr. Yount began his career in Boulder in 1989, and joined Mountain Vista EyeCare in 1995. He is an adjunct professor for Southern California College of Optometry and Pacific University and commonly lectures on ocular pathology and therapeutic treatment of eye disease.

He served on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado Optometric Association from 2001-03 and was selected as President for the 2004-05 term. Dr. Yount is the active Chairman of the COA Eye Care Benefits committee, is the Colorado ECBC liaison for American Optometric Association, and currently is on the Executive Board for the Colorado Optometric Glaucoma Society.

He is the co-founder of "On The Mat" (Colorado High School Wrestling Publication) and was on the Medical Advisory Board for the U.S. Triathlon Federation.

In 1996, Dr. Yount was selected as Young Optometrist of the Year by the Colorado Optometric Association. In his spare time Dr. Yount loves to cycle and spend time with his wife and 3 girls.

Dr. Mark G. Kruchen

Dr. Kruchen earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Indiana University. He began his optometric career practicing in Michigan and moved to Colorado in 1984.

He is a member of the American and Colorado Optometric Associations and has served on the optometric associations' legislative and awards committees.

He is married to Christy and has 2 daughters. An athlete who enjoys skiing, biking, hiking and swimming, he has been with the practice since 1990.

Dr. Tara Peterson

Dr. Peterson earned her Bachelors Degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2001 and graduated with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2005.

She completed clinical rotations at the Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., a private Pediatric and Vision Therapy office in Colorado, Pacific University Vision Clinics in Oregon, and at the Cass Lake Indian Health Service Hospital in Minnesota.

Dr. Peterson is President of the Vision & Learning Forum and a member of the American Optometric Association, Colorado Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She has volunteered for numerous community vision screenings and has traveled with the Lions Club and AMIGOS Eyecare on mission trips to Guatemala and Mexico.

Dr. Peterson completed her thesis study on sports performance enhancing contact lenses. She now practices full scope optometry with special interests in pediatrics and sports vision.
